The Surface Water Detention Area is complete and will capture surface water run-off during stripping and excavation work for ground preparation of various Process Plant Site Area buildings. Construction is underway for Pond B1, which will receive water from the Surface Water Detention Area before the water is pumped to the Temporary Effluent Water Treatment Plant for treatment.

Planned activities for the week of September 27th include Tree Clearing, continuing to advance the Early Earth Works within the Kenogamisis and S4 Aggregate Pits, exterior and interior finishes within the Temporary Lodging Facility, stripping in preparation for the drill and blast program for the construction of Pond B1, the installation of power lines, culverts and road construction.

What's coming next:

Operation of the Temporary Effluent Water Treatment Plant located South of Hardrock Road is underway with discharge of clean water into Kenogamisis Lake. Early Earth Works in the Kenogamisis Pit located North of Highway 11 behind Between Bridges Inn continues and includes the extraction and crushing of gravel for upcoming construction activities. The Temporary Lodging Facility (TLF) is now occupied by construction workforce residents. Exterior and interior finishes within Phase 2 TLF modules including  mechanical, electrical and piping work will continue. Temporary Power Line work will resume with the installation of power lines between Highway 11 and the TEWTP as well as between the future Process Plant Site (PPS) and future Tailings Management Facility (TMF). Construction of the Surface Water Detention area for site water management near the PPS footprint is complete. Construction of Pond B1 within the PSS area includes activities such as stripping and excavation work in preparation for the drill and blast program. Stripping and excavation work to prepare the foundation for the future Reagent Building will commence. On-going hauling of material from the S4 Aggregate Pit to the future PPS area continues. Construction of TMF Access Roads between S4 and the future Haul Road will continue. The installation of culverts A6 and A6a located near the future TMF area by way of the Haul Road Service Access will continue. Construction of an access road within the MacLeod High Tailings (MHT) area continues in preparation for the future construction of the MHT seepage collection system. Tree clearing activities within the Lahtis Road area in preparation for the construction of the TMF will commence.

The Tree Clearing, Early Earth Works within the Kenogamisis and S4 Aggregate Pits, the installation of power lines, the drill and blast program and road construction involve the use of heavy equipment such as: zoom booms, cranes, drills, excavators, skidders, wood chippers, bulldozers, tri-axle haul trucks, articulated trucks and loaders. For health and safety reasons, we wish to caution the general public to limit non-essential traffic within Hardrock Road and the TEWTP area and to follow and obey posted signs across the Project area.

The safety of our employees, contractors and the general public is paramount as we continue to prepare for construction of the Greenstone Mine.
