The Temporary Feed Pond is under construction. Located near the Temporary Effluent Water Treatment Plant (TEWTP), the Temporary Feed Pond will be lined with a High Density Polyethylene membrane, which itself will be protected by a geotextile fabric. This liner will prevent seepage, ensuring that all site water is processed by the TEWTP.

Planned activities for the week of July 5th include Tree Clearing, continuing to advance the Early Earth Works, the construction of the Temporary Power Line and Temporary Feed Pond, the East Service Road and the Temporary Plant Site Access roads along with the installation of modules and steel structure.

What's coming next:

Forestry Operation Area 1 Tree Clearing includes the clearing and removal of trees in preparation for the Highway 11 Relocation. Area 1 activities will take place within the Mosher Shaft area.

Early Earth Works are underway in preparation for the Temporary Effluent Water Treatment Plant project component. The Temporary Effluent Water Treatment Plant is located South of Hardrock Road, includes activities such as hauling and placement of material, with gravel extraction taking place from the Kenogamisis Pit located North of Highway 11 behind Between Bridges Inn. Other activities taking place at the Temporary Effluent Water Treatment Plant area include the erection of modules and steel structure as well as the construction of the Temporary Feed Pond. The Temporary Feed Pond will store water from around site prior to being processed by the TEWTP. The erection of lodging facility modules within the Temporary Lodging Facility pad area located South of Old Arena Road will continue including the commencement of the erection of the Waste Shelter which will house the grey water reservoir. These activities will cause additional tractor trailer traffic on Highway 584 and Old Arena Road leading to the Temporary Lodging Facility entrance. The East Service Road adjoining Highway 11 and Hardrock Road and the Temporary Plant Site Access Road adjoining Highway 11, past the Greenstone OPP Detachment and across from the Mosher Shaft will continue road construction activities. The Temporary Power Line construction will continue with the installation of power line poles between MacLeod Townsite and the Mosher Shaft along the southern boundary of the Kenogamisis Golf Course.

The Tree Clearing, Early Earth Works, Road Construction, the installation of modules and steel structure and power line poles involve the use of heavy equipment such as: skidders, wood chippers, excavators, bulldozers, loaders, tri-axle haul trucks, tractor trailers, zoom booms and cranes. Please be advised of an increase in haul traffic on Highways 11 and 584, the Hardrock Road and Old Arena Road. For health and safety reasons, we wish to caution the general public to limit non-essential traffic within Hardrock Road and the Temporary Effluent Water Treatment Plant area during the Early Earth Works and erection of modules and steel structure.

The safety of our employees, contractors and the general public is paramount as we continue to prepare for construction of the Greenstone Mine.
