What's coming next:

Greenstone Mine wishes to advise the public that open pit activities are underway. Greenstone Mine will be conducting scheduled blasts within the Open Pit. A link to Blasting Notices is located on the company website homepage.

A portion of the Barton Bay Trail has reopened for the winter months due to the winter suspension of construction activities on the Highway 11 Realignment. We ask that trail users obey the ‘No Trespassing’ signs that have been installed for everyone’s safety. The trail will be closed again once activities resume in the spring.

At the Process Plant east end, steel erection, cladding and roof liner installation continue. At the west end, internal steel and the installation of the CIP tank components are ongoing. Concrete, steel erection and cladding work continues at the Crusher with the electrical tray installation and commissioning of the overhead crane at the Secondary Crusher. Cladding is ongoing at the High Pressure Grinding Rolls (HPGR). At the Power Plant, interior work is ongoing including the including the installation of cable trays and construction of the control room. Interior work on piping and electrical systems in the Truck Shop continues and the installation of the last of the overhead doors is complete. Commissioning of the Pit Fuel Station and Potable Water Treatment Plant will continue. Conveyor preassembly and installation are ongoing with preparations for the transfer tower structure erection continuing. Power distribution work continues in the Plant Site and Tailings Management Facility (TMF) areas.

At the TMF, work continues on the cut-off wall with the Deep Soil Mixing machine.

Mine mobile equipment components continue to arrive. Assembly of the first four mine haul trucks and two shovels is complete. The construction of haul roads is advancing well.

The public are reminded to continue to obey all posted signs across the project area for everyone’s health and safety. Now that the winter season is upon us, snowmobilers are warned to stay well outside of the project footprint for their own safety as many hazards may be covered by snow.

Construction in and around Greenstone Mine involves the use of heavy equipment such as haul trucks, zoom booms, cranes, drills, excavators, skidders, bulldozers, tri-axle haul trucks, articulated trucks and loaders. The extensive project work over the last year has significantly changed the landscape resulting in many new hazards. For health and safety reasons, do not enter any unauthorized or active work areas within the Project footprint unless authorized to do so.

The safety of our employees, contractors and the general public is paramount as we construct the Greenstone Mine.
